a walk to end hunger HUNGER WALK -BIG, BIG THANKS!

Thank you to everyone who helped make Team RCS’ participation in the Greater Chicago Food Depository’s 25th Annual Hunger Walk such an amazing success on Saturday, June 26! More than 40 Team RCS members joined 7,000 other Hunger Walkers at Soldier Field on Saturday morning to raise awareness and funds for local hunger issues. Team RCS and its supporters raised more than $8,000, all of which will go directly to the purchase of food for our Tuesday night Food Pantry and Community Kitchen. (Online donations will continue to be accepted until July 31 at www.chicagosfoodbank.org/goto/rcs.) Because Team RCS participated at such a high level (lots of walking team members, plus lots of money raised!), the Food Depository will contribute a “bonus” amount to the money raised by our team. It will likely be August before we have the final, final tally for Team RCS, but in the mean time, RCS will continue to provide hunger relief to more than 300 families and individuals each week.
