With $1, RCS can buy 10 pounds of food!
Financial contributions from individuals, organizations and corporations make RCS' work in the community possible. As a member agency of the Greater Chicago Food Depository and registered 501(c)3 non-profit organization, RCS is able to purchase food at a fraction of groceries cost through retail outlets. This means that we can really make your donation work hard to feed hungry people!
There are a number of ways to support RCS financially.
If you would like to send a check or money order, send your payment to:
Ravenswood Community Services

You can also donate online, through Network For Good. Donations can be one-time or monthly recurring. Click the button below.
Do you shop on Amazon? If you shop through the Amazon SMILE program, RCS will receive a portion of each of your purchases, at no cost to you.
1. Decide on the goal of the event.
How much money do you want to raise? Are there other things that you want to accomplish, such as raising awareness?
2. Decide what kind of an event you'd like to host.
Will it be at your home, at a venue with food and drinks? Indoor or outdoors? What kind of experience would you like for your guests to have? Examples of small, fun fundraisers include house parties, bowling parties, wine tasting, fundraising support for a personal accomplishment (i.e. raise pledges in support of a marathon run, 5K or walk-a-thon), arrange a "proceeds sharing" night with an area restaurant or other business.
3. Contact us.
Call or email RCS to let us know about your event. We can help you advertise, if appropriate, and try to have a representative attend your event, if desired. We can also help provide any information or stats that you might like to have available to share with your guests.
4. Plan your event.
Pick a date, a venue and the activity for the event. Think about what needs to be done and work backward from your event date to create a timeline.
5. Publicize your event.
Get the word out in whatever way works for you: social media, post information on community bulletin boards (physical and digital), tell your friends, neighbors and colleagues. Let us know and RCS might be able to share the information via out communications channels as well.
6. Follow up after the event.
Keep a list of attendees/participants at your event. This will make it easier to send a thank you note and share results.
7. Let us know how it went.
We'd love to publish highlights from your event in our next newsletter, as appropriate and thank you for your efforts.
