Thank you for your interest in donating to Ravenswood Community Services in honor of Lora and Josh's wedding celebration. They have prepared many a meal for our hungry neighbors and we are thrilled that they have invited us to be a part of their marriage celebration in this way. A letter from Lora and Josh is below.

To Our Family and Friends,

The church where we will be married is not only a site for our ceremony, but also a place that many of our neighbors depend on for their weekly groceries and a hot meal served family-style. Over the last four years, we have been cooking a meal there once a month for about 125 of our low-income or homeless neighbors. We scramble to cook food, pile it on platters, and send these into the hall only to see them return minutes later, scraped clean. In the past year, the people who come to the community kitchen and food pantry for help has increased by 89%.

Some of our best memories as a couple have been cooking those enormous meals together. You really learn a lot about the person you chop vegetables with for three hours! To celebrate our wedding, we would like to give more to this excellent and essential program. We invite you to consider making a donation to Ravenswood Community Services in place of a wedding gift to us.
