  • Market Pantry: Second Saturdays

    The Market Pantry represents a partnership between the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD), Ravenswood Community Services (RCS) and Ravenswood School to bring a nutritious mix of groceries to neighborhood families in need of food assistance. In a farmers market-like atmosphere, volunteers distribute fresh produce, meat, dairy items and shelf-stable food the second Saturday of every month ... in rain, shine or freezing temps!  (Dress appropriately.) Ravenswood Community Services provides hunger and poverty relief, health services, and life skills education in the Ravenswood and Uptown neighborhoods. In 1993, we began handing out bags of groceries to about 20 neighbors through the front doors of All Saints' Chicago. Today, this vibrant non-profit serves hundreds of hungry neighbors each week and implements strategic neighborhood change through our feeding programs and through our partnership with Ravenswood School.
